The President, Pendarovski, congratulated the athletes from the Special Olympics of North Macedonia for their achieved success and five won medals, of which one gold, two silver, and two bronze. At the Olympics in Berlin, the athlete Agron Hajredini won a gold medal in long jump from a standing position, while Julijana Petrovska was second in the same discipline. In swimming, Stefan Trpkovski won a silver medal in the 100 meters backstroke, and Mario Mickovski won a bronze medal in the 100 meters freestyle. Jane Nikodinovski won a bronze medal in badminton.

Emphasizing that their results are our national pride, President Pendarovski thanked them for the dignified international representation of the state. At the same time, he expressed support for the activities and engagement of the Macedonian Special Olympics, which, by valuing their sporting qualities, contributes to inclusion and the realization of the individual affinities of persons with disabilities and atypical development.




At the World Special Olympic Games in Berlin, over 7000 athletes from 190 countries participated. Our Special Olympics competed with 19 athletes with atypical development in five disciplines: swimming, basketball, badminton, athletics, and table tennis.
