As part of the Strategy for the Development of the Special Olympics in North Macedonia, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed today between the Municipality of Bitola and the Sports Club "Special Olympics – Bitola". With this step, a long-term, strategic, and sustainable cooperation is established aimed at developing inclusive sports programs for persons with intellectual disabilities at the municipal level.
By signing the Memorandum, the Municipality of Bitola, led by Mayor Toni Konjanovski, provides institutional, logistical, and organizational support to the Special Olympics in the form of access to sports facilities, as well as collaboration for the promotion of inclusive sports programs and cooperation in the development of local policies and initiatives for inclusion.
The Sports Club "Special Olympics – Bitola", under the leadership of President Ana Kotevska, will continue to implement sports training and activities according to the standards of the Special Olympics, through active involvement of persons with intellectual disabilities in sports programs and competitions, as well as cooperation with local institutions, schools, and sports entities.
The Memorandum is concluded for a period of four years, with the possibility of extension, and covers the joint organization of sports events and festivals, support for coaches and volunteers, raising public awareness and creating conditions for sustainable development of the programs of the Special Olympics in Bitola.
